Bequests

Help us by putting us in your Will

Animal Liberation receives no funding from governments or any other organisations – we rely solely on the generosity ofour supporters through membership, bequests and donations. This support allows us to continue to be the thorn in the side of those who abuse animals, otherwise it can be difficult to function.

Please note that testamentary gifts to charities and animal welfare organisations often fail due to incorrect wording. We advise you contact a lawyer to help you with your will. You may however, wish to provide the following words to your legal practitioner as a guide:

"I give ______________ [specify the percentage of your estate or a lump sum or the specific property that you intend to give] to Animal Liberation (A.C.T.) Incorporated.

Also, please note that under the current law it is not really possible to give a bequest to an animal or give a bequest conditional on that fact that a person takes care of an animal. However, your lawyer may be able to help you set up a will where you animal stands the best chance of being cared for as you wish once you leaves this earth. You can also make a bequest to Animal Liberation ACT to be applied for a specific purpose, and again, a lawyer can help you draft the appropriate words.

Please contact Animal Liberation ACT if you wish to discuss the matter further.
